A message from the Chief Daniel P. Harrigan Sr. to the residents of the Village of Scotia as well as visitors to our community:

While we currently do not have any confirmed cases of the COVID-19 in Scotia as of yet, we need to do our part to protect the public as well as the agency personnel to help reduce the spread of this virus.

The Scotia Police Department will continue to provide all essential services to the residents with some changes in protocol. I will be continuing to monitor this fluid situation as well as meeting with our leadership team. I will provide updates to the public as soon as practicable.

Effective immediately the following will be suspended:

➢ Village Court will be CANCELLED through April 30, 2020
➢ Vehicle lockouts
➢ Child Car seat installs
➢ Fingerprinting
➢ Scheduled Trainings
➢ Ride Alongs
➢ Station Tours
➢ Non-Emergency Walk Ins to the station.

The following protocols will be modified immediately:

➢ Officers will be instructed to take written reports over the phone
➢ All written reports will be either be mailed or emailed to recipients when requested
➢ Requests for reports please email
or call our office at (518)374-3110 x 3201

On behalf of the Scotia Police Department we’re sincerely disappointed with having to modify our services. We appreciate your patience and understanding while our local representatives work with county and state officials in dealing with this pandemic.
