Dear Village Resident-

The Village Board is pleased to announce the result of our straw poll relative to the location of the Fire Station / Municipal Facilities Project. The votes are in.  By a wide margin, (178 Municipal lot , 56 Library Site , 52 Neither) you have spoken and prefer the spot in what is now municipal parking lot (between Village Paint and Cityview Church) over the portion of Collins Park next to the Scotia Library.

The next step is to work on fine tuning the space requirements which drives the price.  When we get the price estimate in place we can engage bond counsel to prepare a package that we can put before you in a referendum for funding the project.  The schedule for this is as follows:

On April 21, 2022, a Thursday at 7PM at Brink Hall, First Reformed Church of Scotia, 224 N. Ballston Avenue we will hold a Public Forum to review space requirements, draft site schematics,  and legal requirements.

On May 12, 2022, a Thursday at 7PM again at Brink Hall, First Reformed Church of Scotia, 224 N. Ballston Avenue we will hold a Public Forum for a budget update and final review of the site schematics and legal requirements. (TENTATIVE)

On June 2, 2022, a Thursday at 7PM to the Scotia Fire Department meeting room, upstairs at 148 Mohawk Avenue we will be having a final public forum to answer questions. (TENTATIVE)

On June 7, 2022 from noon to 9PM at the Scotia Fire Department main floor we will hold a public referendum seeking approval for the project.

Thank You

Mayor Gifford and The Village Board of Trustees
