Dear Village of Scotia Residents,

On your upcoming October water/sewer bill, you will notice language regarding past drinking water violations. The New York State Department of Health did not issue the proper violation notice to the Village that was required by the EPA during that time period. The violations were related to lead and copper monitoring and required public notifications between 2020 and 2022.
Since being made aware of these issues, the Village has taken all necessary corrective actions and has been in full compliance with both NYSDOH and EPA regulations. There have been no exceedances of lead action levels since the cited periods, and all required sampling has been conducted according to current standards.
We remain fully committed to delivering safe, high-quality drinking water while maintaining transparency with our community. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and continued trust in our public water system.
If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact the New York State Department of Health at 1-800-458-1158.

Sincerely,
David Bucciferro
Mayor
