The safety and security of residents and employees is a top priority of the Village of Scotia. As guidance and restrictions are changed and updated our goal remains the same, to maintain the high level of service provided to Village residents. The below changes will be in effect till at least the first Village Board Work Session of March, Tuesday March 2, 2021. We will then evaluate with State and County oversight of the Pandemic response. Effective until further notice the following changes have been made to Village operations:

Village Hall remains open and operational but is closed to walk-in customers. This includes the Village Clerk’s Office, Building Inspector, and Village Court Clerk. Water/Sewer bills will be payable during the month of February.  Water/Sewer and Court payments can be left in the drop-box to the left of each outside door or mailed to Village of Scotia 4 N. Ten Broeck Street, Scotia, New York 12302. Water and Sewer Cash payments can be made at First National Bank of Scotia but only at the drive-up window at the Mohawk Avenue branch.  Also, for your convenience, there is an online portal for payment. The Village Police Department is fully operational and will remain that way, however the Police Clerk’s window is closed to walk-ins. For Police related matters please use the red phone to the right of the exterior door or contact the administrative office at 518-374-3110. For Emergencies call 911 or use the red phone outside of Police Station.


The Village Fire Department is fully operational and will remain that way, however the Fire Department is closed to all except those employees currently working. For Fire Department related matters please call 518-381-6115 option 1 or ring the doorbell for immediate service. For Emergencies call 911 or use red phone outside of Police Station.


Collins Park is open to all who want to get outside, exercise and get fresh air. Park visitors should follow social distancing guidelines by the use of face coverings and maintaining 6 feet of distance between you and others who are not part of your group.


The Department of Public Works is operational and will remain that way, however the DPW Office is closed to all visitors. Garbage collection will continue its normal schedule. For DPW related questions please call 518-393-2159 or visit for yard waste and garbage collection guidelines.


Please make smart decisions and keep the health and safety of all Village residents and employees in mind. The Village of Scotia is proud of the high level of service provided to its residents, but we can only provide those services if employees remain healthy. Remember to check on elderly, disabled or at-risk neighbors and relatives, but please do so in a safe manner (phone calls, text messages or other forms of communication that avoid in-person contact).
