Plot plan instructions:
- Use paper at least 8 1/2 X 11.
- Have a heading with property address, owners name & phone.
- Draw with straight edge to a scale no smaller than 1= 50 ( 1 = 20 will usually work for a typical property). (Show the scale used on the plan)
- Distinguish between existing and proposed structures.
- Show:
- Street(s) that abut property
- Property lines with dimensions
- Front, rear and side yard setback dimensions for structures (setback is the distance from structure to property line)
- Distances between structures
- Perimeter dimensions of structures
- Height in stories and feet of structures
- Location of signs (add more sheets with drawings and dimensions of signs).
- Driveways
- Width at street or curbline,
- Overall size of parking areas,
- Outline and show size of all regular and handicap parking spots,
- Indicate pavement types
- In addition to the above requirements indicate the following information for the specific structures:
- Garages
- automobile capacity
- Porches
- open or enclosed,
- type of foundation
- Pools
- above ground or inground,
- water depth,
- height of aboveground
- pool walls
- details of Code required enclosures
- Garages
- You may be asked to provide more information to the Building Inspector or to any authorizing Board to help determine Code compliance.
NOTE: For vacant land and lot development, a land survey containing the seal and signature of a licensed surveyor or engineer must be submitted.
